1. What is Laser Mission?
Laser Mission is a company that runs a revolutionary new outdoor, team-based combat game commonly called 'Laser Combat' or 'Laser Tag'. Laser Combat is also known as 'electronic paintball' and similar in concept to paintball games. Our missions are more advanced and sophisticated than typical paintball games; they are linked, to reveal an overall story or theme, and require planning, problem-solving and information assimilation.

Our missions are designed to encourage working together as a team, develop leadership skills, and stimulate effective communication. Teams are assigned a series of logistical, information gathering, problem-solving and/or hazard-neutralising missions which may have FBI, spy, extra terrestrial or 'mad scientist' themes, as well as military-style scenarios. All missions and scenarios are played in either woodlands or urban settings, for example hotel grounds, a former underground nuclear bunker, or purpose-built corporate training centres.

Players also get the opportunity to use a variety of weapons. Depending on your package we may also offer an extended range of equipment such as sniper rifles, night vision goggles, gas masks and walkie-talkies, depending on your missions.

2. Who can play Laser Mission?
Laser Mission is suitable for both men and women of all ages* and levels of fitness. The variety of missions and roles within the team allow players to participate at a level at which they feel comfortable. Navigation, code breaking and intelligence interpretation require little exertion and are as equally important to the team as defending base camp, reconnaissance and other more physical tasks.

3. How do the guns work exactly?
The game system has been built around a safe, robust and reliable high-tech infrared combat system with weapons modelled on the Pulse Rifle from the film 'Aliens'. Players fire an invisible and harmless infrared beam similar to the one used in your TV remote control. The sound effects are extremely realistic so you know when you have been shot, and the highly intelligent software in our weapons will ensure no cheating takes place!

We have a selection of weapons for use: Spitfires, Scorpions, Commando carbines, M4s, Pulse rifles, Morita sniper rifles and Claymore mines. The weapons vary in size, weight, ammunition capacity and shooting range. For example Scorpions, Commando carbines and Spitfires are lightweight and manoeuvrable, which makes them ideal for those who do not wish to carry larger assault rifles. The scopes range from 85metres up to 170 meters. For more information and specs, please visit our Technology section.

4. What happens when we get there?
You will be welcomed by our team and offered snacks and hot drinks. You will then be issued with camouflage clothing (coveralls, hat, assault vest, poncho), equipment and weapons. After an Equipment & Safety briefing, your Mission Leader will go through the various scenarios and games to be played. Players will experience a number of different missions and scenarios.

Some of the more advanced packages will involve the team being issued with other high-tech gadgets and equipment such as hand-held radios, gas masks and night-vision equipment.

5. What should be worn beneath the camouflage coveralls, and what else should players bring with them?
Please bring boots or sturdy footwear. We recommend that players wear cool, loose fitting clothing such as tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt. Several thin layers are more practical, as they can be put on or peeled off as necessary. Sun-cream is useful in warm weather, and gloves in the cooler months.

Showers are not always available, so players are advised to bring a full clean set of clothes to change into after the event. Laser Mission London will not be responsible for any loss, theft or accident to players or their property.

Players may wish to bring cameras.

6. What happens if it is raining?
We play in all types of weather - sun, snow, rain and hail; however we do recommend that players bring a change of clothing with them. We do supply players with army-issue camouflage ponchos - or they may wish to bring their own waterproof clothing. We will stop play if there is an electric storm for safety reasons.

7. Do you get bruised?
No, not at all. There are no projectiles, and no paint, just a harmless infrared beams and realistic sound effects. Laser Mission is about tactics and teamwork, not violence.

8. Are there any hidden costs with Laser?
None. Laser Mission provides players with everything they need for the event, and unlike paintball, all the necessary ammunition is included in the price.

9. What sort of groups do you cater for?
We currently cater for groups of up to 50 people, and can include multiple activities. Laser Mission is suitable for ladies and gentlemen of all ages and levels of fitness. We can tailor our missions so that every member of the team is involved.

10. Do you organise overnight accommodation, meeting rooms, other activities etc?
We offer catering, accommodation, conferencing facilities and other outdoor activities. Our accommodation ranges from rustic log cabins in the woods to five star hotels. Please see our locations section for further details.

11. Can you go mobile?
Yes. Laser Mission is fully mobile, so if you have a specific venue in mind, we can come to you. We will need to do a site reconnaissance first in order to carry out a risk assessment audit. Please contact us for further information.
